Hi all,
Trying to configur IMap disconnected from a gmail account I have the same behavior when trying to get all my previous Mails ( pretty big around 3 Go) :
After some minutes the connection to server is interrupted ( I am translating to English) : Nomatter how many attempts I do I always Have the same (fairly incomplete numbers of mails in my folders) By example in "All messages" I am stuck with exactly 1581 messages (around 71 Mo) ...
Is it normal that each new attempts to get the mails start over from nothing ?
If I am correct the disconnection "timeout" connection is somthing the gmail account do.
I tried both to reconstruct index and reset imap cache but nothing worked.
Is there any work around or I am missing something ?

Regards,

Ps : Running Icedove (Opensource debian's thunderbird) does not gives this issue; any config I can use to get Kmail works properly ?

What version of KDE PIM are you using? To clarify, just paste the output of "kmail --version".

Hi,
sorry but for an unknown reason I did not receive the notification of an answer...
however here you are :

Qt : 4.8.5
Plate-forme de développement de KDE : 4.10.5
KMail : 4.10.5

I am using sid and therefore just get Kmail2 but the problem is the exact same.
So it seems that google server disconnect kmail after a bit of time say 10 minutes. What I can't get is why Kmal can't make any progress between 2 disconnection ?
I am still stuck with March 2008 as age of the most recents stored messages . Anything I can test ?

Strange, I'm not seeing this happening to me. Can you create a new user account, set up the gmail account, and see if the problem still occurs?

Just done so, I should wait before writing this but I am pretty confident with the behavior I can see now :
Same problem.

Can you check ~/.xsession-errors for suspicious errors?

Hi,

You may have a point here since there is one thousand occurrence (almost literally) of this line

Code: Select all
akonadi_maildispatcher_agent(3763)/libakonadi: Resource id's don't match:  "akonadi_maildir_resource_1" "akonadi_mixedmaildir_resource_1"

Any idea ?

Regards,

Just to add a point I ( am trying to) use Kmail with 3 mail adress (3 identites, 3 accounts) one is another gmail adress which works fine (but which is Really lighter with respect to the number of mails) ... the other is job related and work fine as well..

I guess you should open a bug on bugs.kde.org giving as much information as possible to help diagnose the issue.
Also have a look at http://techbase.kde.org/Projects/PIM/Akonadi/Debug_IMAP
