I am new to KDE - Kubuntu13.04 64bit.

I need to configure Kontact with Yahoomail and Gmail. Both are required by me.
I configured two identities in Kontact for yahoomail and Gmail respectively, keeping yahoomail identity as default.

I configured Kontact successfully with yahoomail IMAP. I am able to send, forward and recieve emails using yahoomail identity.

I also tried to configure Kontact with Gmail IMAP. I am receiving emails but I am not able to send and forward emails using Gmail identity.

Again I would like to mention that I want both of them to be configured and use. Kindly help.

Also, I need to know abiut Akonadi. I know it is required for using Kontact apps. But how do we use Akondai with Facebook. What features it provides with facebook.

Have you, in accounts, set up gmail smtp for sending?

Mine says "smtp.gmail.com", username full mail address, password you know. On advanced tab port 465 using SSL, authentication login.

I assume that you have both accounts set up for sending and that you want to use one or other with particular folders. I think it is possible to associate folders in this way, but it's a long time since I did it and can't exactly remember how. What I can do, though, is tell you how to switch quickly and easily between the two mail transports.

Get up a New Message window. Click View on that window and you will see a number of items you can choose to display when composing your message. One of them is Mail Transport. If you enable that you will find that you have a dropdown that will make switching simple.
