bcooksley wrote:The bug is not related to server configuration. I do not know how Thunderbird filters the mail, but I suspect that it copies the new mail, in full complete with attachments to your local system for filtering ( which is not a good practice )

The difference between Disconnected IMAP and IMAP is that with Disconnected IMAP, a certain amount of data about mails is cached on the local system, while with IMAP it all happens directly on the server, nothing is saved by KMail.

You might be interested in IMAP Sieve scripts which should be able to provide spam filtering on the server side.

Ok, thanks for help. Is there any place where can i check progress on kmail rewrite to akonadi?

It hasn't started as of yet. There was a mention of it in Till Adam's talk on Akonadi at Camp KDE. I believe a video of it is available on blip.tv

Now my Kmail completly gone nuts. It checks for mail my imap accounts which ive deleted, and also now even POP3 filtering stoped working :( I think that now, when desktop (Plasma, Kwin, etc) is pretty stable and usable, Kmail rewrite should be priority for KDE developers.

You may wish to investigate Maliody, which is an alternative KDE 4 Mail client, which uses Akonadi. I do not know if Akonadi supports POP3 at this point however ( it does support IMAP though )
