Kmail doen't show content of emails

Sun Sep 29, 2013 4:37 pm
Hi,
since I upgraded on archlinux (Kernel 3.11.1-1-pae) to KDE 4.11.1 kmail doesnt work fully again. It fetchs new emails and list them, but it doesn't show the content or only after a few minutes. akonadi, MariaDB and dbus work. kmail says in the console at selecting emails:
Code: Select all
"kmail2(9310)/nepomuk (library): Could not find virtuoso to connect to. Aborting"

It seems nepomuk or virtuoso doesn't work, in akonadi-console is "akonadi_nepomuk_feeder" not startet. Why? I doen't have an idea.
Code: Select all
~]# virtuoso-t +foreground +debug -c /var/lib/virtuoso/db/virtuoso.ini
virtuoso-t seems to run without problems.
Can someone help me to fix it please?

What's the output of "nepomukctl status"?

Code: Select all
[neutrino@localhost ~]$ nepomukctl status
Nepomuk Server is running.
Service storage is running.
[neutrino@localhost ~]$ systemctl status dbus
dbus.service - D-Bus System Message Bus
   Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/dbus.service; static)
Active: active (running) since Mo 2013-09-30 23:36:44 CEST; 1h 28min ago

   CGroup: /system.slice/dbus.service
           └─447 /usr/bin/dbus-daemon --system --address=systemd: --nofork --nopidfile --systemd-activation

[neutrino@localhost ~]$ akonadictl status
Akonadi Control: running
Akonadi Server: running
Akonadi Server Search Support: not available
[neutrino@localhost ~]$

But same error-message from kmail, maybe virtuoso doesnt' work (I see no instance in htop)?

Indeed it is strange. Let's try getting some more debug: open "kdebugdialog", uncheck "disable all debug output", then click on "Unselect all", then search for "nepomuk" in the upper text field, activate all the checkmarks of what you find. Then issue "nepomukctl restart" from the command line. It should spew quite a lot of debug output, pastebin it somewhere and post the link here so the issue can be diagnosed.

I have updated to KDE 4.11.2 but same Problem

Why use akonadiserver and mysqld 75% of CPU all the time?

What version of virtuoso are you running? The package is often called "virtuoso-server".

Is the appropriate iODBC driver for Virtuoso installed, along with iODBC itself?

Have you tried moving the contents of ~/.kde4/share/apps/nepomuk/repository elsewhere, to eliminate database corruption as a potential issue?

It doesn't help, akonadi and mysql use 75% of CPU again and kmail doesn't show emails but fetch new emails. I also can't archive/export the emails with kmail.

Okay. I'm not sure what the problem could be with KMail unfortunately - but i've moved this to the Kontact & PIM forum in case someone who watches that forum has an idea.

I'm not sure that Virtuoso version plays nicely with Nepomuk. Probably 6.1.6 would be better (as there are bugs in Virtuoso, not in Nepomuk, that cause various issues).
