Hello,
Since I moved to Saucy (kubuntu 13.10) kmail does not delete emails anymore. When I delete an email, it disappears. Yet, a minute later -when kmail synchronises with imap - the deleted mails come back. When dragging mails to (imap) folders, the same happens... I checked settings. Innitially the waste bin was pointing to my imap account. When changing it, by pointing waste bin to the waste bin folder, the behavior remained. Please help! r2r |

Strange, I thought this bug was fixed already? What PIM version are you using?

I have just upgraded to Linux Mint 17 KDE. I am using an IMap account hosted by 1and1.com. Deleting of mail has two different failures.
1) When trash is left local the message disappears from inbox and appears in local trash folder. Deleting it from local trash folder makes it disappear in KMail. Logging into Web page access of account shows the email still in trash folder with a line through it. In short, the message is put in some funky state, but not deleted. 2) When configured to store trash on imap server and deleting from inbox, the messages appear greyed out in KMail inbox. Web page shows them in funky state with line drawn through. Deleting from trash folder in KMail also puts line through messages in trash folder via Web page access. If developer is assigned this issue I can create them an email account on the server for testing so they can see the problems first hand. Thank you. |

That, and the other phenomenon you mention is not a bug, but an IMAP feature. Mails are marked for deletion, but they are not deleted immediately, relying instead on the server's periodical expunge of deleted mails. Can you keep one of the deleted mails in the trash for a while (days) and see if in the end disappears?
