Facebook Connector

Wed Nov 20, 2013 11:34 pm
Hello,

I'm using KDE 4.11.3 and tried the facebook connector via systemsettings → akonadi. The app was asking me for acess and i granted. Now "KDE Connector" is shown on my facebook apps list and in the systemsettings dialog it says "ready". All seems fine. But what happens next? When there is a new notification on facebook nothing is shown on my desktop, but this is supposed to happen, isn't it? Are there any further steps I have to do?

Best regards.

Yep, there are several notification plugins around that uses RSS. But I wanted to use KDE Connector (more features, maintained by KDE, …) and it should have the abillity to display notifications or am I wrong?

I don't use Facebook but I had seen the plasmoid so I posted the link

You maybe right, the KDE Community Wiki states http://community.kde.org/KDE_PIM/fb-policy :
the "KDE Connector" is used in KDE's PIM framework Akonadi to fetch and temporarily cache your Facebook data. That includes posts from your stream, list of your friends with their contact information, list of your notes, list of your calendar events and your notifications
