Where is PIM?

Tue Dec 17, 2013 3:53 pm
I am trying to find how to load the PIM Setting Exporter and although the manual says it is in the Tools menu of KMail there is no selection I can see. I have tried several routes to find this but no luck. I am running Ubuntu 12.04 with Kmail Version 4.8.5. Any help appreciated as I am only trying to copy all my mail settings across to a new machine.

Thank you such a fast response. Being not very advanced on command line i have tried to run this both as user and sudo but it reports command not found. I tried both Exoprt Kmail Data and pimsettingexporter. Do I need to change directory? Many Thanks Steve :)

sorry it seems that pimsettingexporter was added recently, maybe KDE 4.10 or 4.11

are you copying your /home folder also to the new machine? that should suffice

it's nothing I've ever done but if you Google:
Code: Select all
kmail move new machine
you should find appropriate help

Thank you for the answer, at least I now know why I cannot find it. I will try the link regarding moving machines. Best Regards Steve
