kmail shakes filter

Hi,
on Debian 7 in a openBox Setup im using the kontact suite 4.11.3. Yesterday after 10 days using nothing working anymore in kmail and started in a terminal shows me thousands of "collection has not resource" messages. A Tipp in the net was to delete all the entry in ".local/share/akonadi/". After doing this kmail works again, makes error again, i delete it again. And over night i see that all the filters are acite but the moving target was changed to an other target, very strange. Other settings like the dedicated trash, not the local doesnt work. My Question - is this a buggy version - is there a way to backup a save state (copy files, or export) of the complete suite |

4.11 has the ability to export data, if you run "pimsettingexporter". With regards to your issue, are you using PIM with SQLIte or MySQL? Check the packages which have "akonadi" in the name.

Deleting randomly files in .local/share/akonadi is not a solution because it only removes part of the configuration, therefore it will lead to intermittent issues.
Are you using POP, or IMAP? What provider (GMail, non-GMail)? One or more accounts? Are all of them affected? When the problem occurs: - Can you try running "akonadictl fsck" from the command line (note: it will return immediately, and the checking process will start in background) - Can you open "akonadiconsole" and check for any errors in your broken resource.

Hi,
i startet the fsck, but there isnt visible in ps fax
And akonadiconsole isnt accessible
i found some other related: When i change the Mailfoldertargets like trash, sent or else in one idendity, they where changed in the other idendity too, no seperation. I think this is the same thing like my other problem. regards Stefan |

You can install akonadiconsole, it's often packaged separately as it's a debugging tool.

Hi,
next Issue related to this Problem. I made an update and restart and after Login kotact starts, but in the kmail Modul i cant open mails. I started akonadikonsole but there was nothing to see (ERRORS). Then i started kontact in terminal, and i see the message ~"qdbus must started first". Starting kmail without the Rest of kontact works, but i cant open the mails. Restart of the system, start of kontact, then was asked for the Identitie of my Filters, with a selektion windows, but there was no entry to select. I click on cancel, then kontact works again. I think this is a bug with handaling Identities in Kmail. |

Hi,
the first Problem with the filters are in the following setup - two imap accounts - two idendities for the two different smtp server When i setup filter for the one and restart kontact/kmail the filters pointing on the wrong direction, what means one the wrong account. The folder in the imap accounts dont have the same name except the inbox. The second problem yesterday comes after some updates for kontact 4.11.3 in debian and the restart of the machine. - two imap accounts - only one idendity in the moment After start i see the complete kontact suite, i can choose a mail, but there is a message "waiting for receiving message", but this never ends. I shutdown kontact and starts it again, but kontact doesnt start, only dedicated start of kmail works, but its still the same problem. The akonadiconsole shows me no problems. After some tries i restart my machine and kontact starts relativ clean, but there is a message "choose idendity for filters" but the selectionbox is empty. I see in my filters list, some filters are missing and one filter doesnt has a working entry (inbox). Both issues are corresponding to the handling of the idendities I see another thing, there was multiple instances of mysql running, for every try to start kontact Remember my setup Openbox Environment Kontact without the the other components of KDE no nepomuk Hope this is helpful Best regards |

Are you using Debian Unstable (because to my knowledge KDEPIM 4.11.x is not offered in any stable version)?
You may want to check bugs.kde.org to see if the issue with filters has been already reported and if not, open a new ticket.
