Hi,
I have made some searches on google and on this forum unsuccessfully so I'm going to post this issue. On Kmail 1.13.7 (kde 4.8.4 - distributed with debian 7.3 wheezy) I have several email accounts (pop3, imap, local). On the kmail settings -> account, all the accounts are in alphabetical order, but when I try to click on the button "Check mail" in the kmail toolbar they are not sorted. Same issue while trying to send an email, trying to select a outgoing transport: accounts are not sorted. I have then tried to delete all accounts, exit kmail/kde, logging again and created back (from A...to Z) all accounts. Initally the accounts stay alphabetical sorted (as I have created them), but after 10-15 minutes the issue appear again: accounts get again unsorted (and they continue in that unsorted way forever). I have tried to look into kmailrc and mailtransports file into my $HOME/.kde/share/config, but the ID, Account Number, hostname, account name doesn't seem to have a logic/algoritm to the applied sort. I have seen this issue from many years but I tought was already a opened bug...but I didn't find nothing about it. Is just me having this issue? Does anyone know if the order is written into akonadi database? Thank you! |

Today I installed KDE-4.12.1
KMail sorts quite well. At first are the inbox, outbox, trash etc. on top. Then the pop3 accounts Then the imap folders, everything alphabetically sorted. Case insensitive. So perhaps you should upgrade KDE first. I am sure that there are soms bugx fixed since 4.8.4 ..and some new introduced..

Hi Kee61, maybe I have bad explained my problem. I know there are problems about sorting mail FOLDERS, but I'm speaking about mail ACCOUNTS ![]() Please check the screeenshot (the red rectangle): ![]() In the Settings->Configure KMail->Accounts->Receiving, accounts are instead sorted correctly! And as linux sysadmin I would not accept an 'upgrade!' reply (using a svn/package) on a stable Debian distribution ![]() |

I think is is sorted, see
![]() hccnet and scarlet is pop3, and the 4 below are imap. Perhaps in a different order as you wish. But it is hard to compare with your kde, because I have a newer version. 4.8.4 is from june 2012 Sorry, don't upgrade ![]() 4.12.1 is also stable, if you can believe [http://ftp.kde.org/stable/

kees61, your screenshot doesn't show where I get the issue, I'm not looking to the mail folder. Please take a look to the RED rectangle in my last screenshot, on the button to force kmail to check if you have new email. |

Ah.. I see
sorry flyzone for my misunderstanding. The controlla posta button gives here also the accounts unsorted I never noticed that. Sorry I can't help you with this. perhaps you should file a bug rapport about the accountorder at the check new mail button. |

yeah, the "controlla posta" problem ![]() In your kmail version is still present the "check mail" button? If yes, do you have account correctly sorted there? |

Yes, the button is still there, see my last post.
The accounts are still unsorted at the check mail button. There was a bug report a century ago about this https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=90477

I wasn't able to find it before, thank you. Let's see if the developpers will consider my 'reopen' request ![]() |
