OK, found them. Is getting them available in a new install of Kontact as easy as creating the folders in Kontact and manually moving the old mail into the appropriate folder and waiting for indexing? Any chance I could find the agent_config_akonadi_* that's causing the cycling? I guess I could binary search things but there might be dependencies and there more than a few:

agent_config_akonadi_akonotes_resource_1
agent_config_akonadi_archivemail_agent
agent_config_akonadi_birthdays_resource
agent_config_akonadi_contacts_resource_2
agent_config_akonadi_contacts_resource_3
agent_config_akonadi_googlecontacts_resource_0
agent_config_akonadi_ical_resource_3
agent_config_akonadi_maildir_resource_0
agent_config_akonadi_maildispatcher_agent
agent_config_akonadi_mailfilter_agent
agent_config_akonadi_nepomuk_calendar_feeder
agent_config_akonadi_nepomuk_contact_feeder
agent_config_akonadi_nepomuk_email_feeder
agent_config_akonadi_nepomuk_feeder
agent_config_akonadi_pop3_resource_0

(Most with _changes.dat alongside, some *_changes.dat w/o the base file).

.... Wait, though, "startServer" does not start Akonadi at all it only means that an internal MySQL should be used, rather than a system one. Are you using Akonadi with a system MySQL instance?

I really don't know, how would I tell? As I said this is an old and many-times upgraded install, likely bits-n-pieces from many years hanging around. I'm the only Akonadi user if that makes a difference.

The dat files are not that important. Check for the folders that contain "cur" "new" or "tmp" subfolders instead.
