I tried to replicate my kontact configuration from one machine to another using pimsettingexporter. It did not go well, and I ended up with a bazillion "Unnamed" identities listed under "Configure Kmail -> Identities". I went through and manually removed them - one at a time, since it did not let me select more than one at a time! After restarting kontact, they were back with a vengeance -- I swear there are now 10 bazillion of them.
I tried to start from scratch using these instructions: http://userbase.kde.org/KMail/FAQs_Hint ... _migration That worked to clean up everything else, but I still have a bazillion "Unnamed" identities. Can someone please tell me how to get rid of all of them? Thank you, |

IIRC, they should be in KDEHOME(either .kde or .kde4)/share/config/emailidentities. Clean up that file and they should go away.

Thank you!
Does there happen to be documentation somewhere describing what the various KDE resource files are used for? While possibly dangerous, there are times when manually editing the config file is a lot easier than trying to configure via the UI. Thanks again. |

Often you might find them in http://userbase.kde.org, but as far as I know there is nothing comprehensive.
If your issue is solved, please mark the topic as such. Thanks!

I had this exact issue as well after transferring pim data, and removing the duplicate unnamed identities does fix it. Just in case anyone else encounters this bug, it works!
