I'm starting a new post because I don't find exactly the same issues elsewhere...
I'm trying to recreate my old profile on a new computer, but upon Kontact startup I get an error message that says akonadi doesn't exist or work...Akonadi Self-Test gave me: http://pastebin.com/qLLVt8Q4 I also tried:

Does the file /home/donald/.local/share/akonadi/mysql.conf exist on your system?

and I see that MySql Server processes have nice green checks by them...it's these processes that have errors:

Hi,
is your home or ~/.local/ a symlink by any chance? There's a known bug that MySQL refuses to start if the patch to mysql.conf contains a symlink.

I don't think it's a symlink...I confess I don't know much about them, though...I do remember setting up a symlink in Gentoo a while ago, but I don't know if Kubuntu 'automatically' sets them up...
How would I find out if it is? |
