Einar,

I see this comment bug numbered 334930;

Additional Comments
Comment 1:
Fixed in 4.13.2

Comment 2:
Laurent, what was the commit hash which fixed this? Distributions may want to patch their packages to include it.

Comment 3:
it's patch e3b1eb838c4d14be616bd90c0f7f19dedce5f58f
Regards

Does this help?

And just out of rampant curiosity, I can't be the only person having this problem, can I? If so, have I done something wrong in my installation?

Thanks,

Chris

Comment 2 was me, I needed that hash so that a patch can be created and used.

So this is just a Kmail issue as I can run Korganizer and Kaddressbook without issue, at least today.

In one way I hope I am not the only one experiencing this issue but on the other hand if I am it makes wonder what I goofed up. If I have done something wrong as in mixing repositories or versions please let me know.

Einar,

SUCCESS! I have Kmail back. I saw the Kmail update today in the list of updates. Opened Kontact and received 37 new message windows that were blank and a crash during the first start of Kontact that showed briefly but closed as Kontact progressed. I deleted the new message windows and stopped Kontact. Restarted Kontact and all seems well. Was this a result of the multiple times starting Kontact and having crashes? I mean was Kmail trying in some way to open a new message during that crash?

Thank you for ALL of your help. As easy as it is using a phone or tablet to check email I haven't found a way to sort and archive email for productive purposes other than Kmail. Again thank you.

Indeed it was added as a backport in the openSUSE packages at my request. If your issue is solved, please mark the topic as such. Thanks!
