Hi,
When I try to find a message in kmail, it does not work correctly. I tested using words I know are in my mails, and sometimes it find the mail, sometimes not. Seems random. I checked the indexing is enabled on folders I tested. (folder property -> maintenance). Thanks. |

What version of KDE PIM are you using?

I have kubuntu 14.04, Kde/Kmail 4.13
Don't know about PIM, where to find the version ? |

You may want to force a re-index of the mails and see if the problem persists. Move away .kde/share/config/baloorc then restart the PIM system ("akonadictl restart" in a terminal). Indexing will be done from the start again once you do so.

I did it, it seems to find more messages, but I still have some cases where it does not find a message when I search a word I know for sure is inside the mail.

While not disclosing anything of the mails you don't find, what did you search for? Like, text inside the mail, subject, sender....

I am looking for a single word, in a specific folder.
I tried to search in "Complete message" or body of the message (to search inside the mails). I am looking for the word alives, it finds some messages but not all of them. There is at least one message which contains this word, and the search result does not return it. |

Do you get the same if you use the complete search interface, or the quick search bar?

Yes I have exactly the same results.

You may want to look in bugs.kde.org to see if there's a similar bug reported, and if so add your own experience there: otherwise, please open a new bug.

Thanks,
According to https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=333403 my bug may be fixed in 4.13.1, and I have 4.13.0. Is there a simple way of upgrading to 4.13.1, or should I wait for the next kubuntu release ? |

Most distributions provide updated packages for the minor releases after a short while, so maybe you can just wait -- shouldn't be necessary to wait for the next kubuntu major version.
I'm working on the KDevelop IDE.
