I'm using Kubuntu 14.04 KDE version 4.13.3 and I am having this same issue

I love using KDE. I wish I could use Kontact/KOrangizer with Google Calendar for easy syncronization with my phone, etc.

I'm having the identical problem, using 14.10. This problem appears to be pretty routine, judging from other posts Are there no KDE responses to this issue?
