Hi there,
I added a new iCal Calender file resource to the Akonadi resources and pointed it to a third party remote file. Fetching the contents of that file worked without problems but akonadi fetches the contents from the server about every second. This causes some very inconvenient behaviour, e.g. certain UI elements in kOrganizer (e.g. the Item Viewer) will refresh every second which makes them basically unusable. Moreover fetching every second causes traffic and load on the server without any need to do so. In fact, refreshing the calender every hour would be entirely sufficient in my case. I haven't found any way to change the refresh interval for the resource. Perhaps someone can point me to the right directions. Cheers.... |

Open akonadiconsole, second tab, right click your collection, properties, retrieval tab
Maybe try setting a sync interval there ? Although I think there's a bug that makes the ical resource go into a loop, so that might not fix it.

Hi there,
yeah.... it seems to have been a bug. I removed the resouce and then added it again. Now the refresh interval seems to be resonable... |

Some more findings...
The behaviour showed up again as soon as I ticked restricted the resources access rights to read-only. Guess I'll report that issue |
