Hello!
System is KDE 4.13.2 on Arch Linux. My Akonadi stopped working. Error report: http://pastebin.com/tL03x00m mysql.err: http://pastebin.com/DkxWeASw (also contained in error report) I think it might be related to a mariadb upgrade of Arch: https://www.archlinux.org/packages/?q=maria EDIT: Deleting ~/.local/share/akonadi/mysql.conf solved it, without data loss. Any idea anyone? Thanks! |

Same here (thanks for the tip). The new mysql.conf is identical to the previous, strange.

Well, it's Akonadi. Prepare for the strange!
Right now Akonadi is cought in a connect / disconnect cycle to my IMAP server. The server hits the maximum connection limit, but Akonadi just keeps trying, every 0.5 second or so. It makes entire KDE almost unusable since it steals your focus on every retry (though there is no GUI application that gets the focus). I had this before, but no exact idea how to get out of it... I keep trying. (at least Akonadi or KMail hasn't eaten any mail for quite some time) |

Connections should be kept only for INBOX (for IDLE), the rest is done only at the time of sync. Also, it's the first time I've seen of focus being stolen due to connection errors. Are you using KMail or Kontact?

KMail only.
I've managed to get out of the loop now, though I don't know why. Rebooting the client hasn't helped, restarting the IMAP server may have helped. Maybe just some minutes that the server resets it maximum connection cache. I've also a similar strange issue when I have two kmails open (on two different machines) it sometimes (~75%) happens that old but marked unread mail is reported as new all the time on my both machines and my cellphone (K9 android). It's not really a problem like the focus stealing above, it's just producing tons of notification. It stops as soon as one of the kmails is put into offline mode. |
