Bulk moving emails from imap to a maildir (or from maildir to another maildir resource) only writes one mail to disk. However, within Kmail, the emails all appear so it seems that the akonadi database is OK, but the maildirs are not synced. For example one of my maildirs has 6499 mails according to akonadi, but the directory only contains 6268 files in all subfolders.
I have noticed this problem with 4.12 on Debian Sid and 4.13 on openSUSE and I am wondering if anyone can reproduce this. If this is reproducible I will file a bug, but I would also like to ask if there is a way to force akonadi to sync the maildir. Currently I have a few hundred emails that only live in the database and not within the maildir that I am afraid of losing. Thanks! |

I will try describing the problem more clearly.
If I highlight multiple emails and move or copy them to a maildir folder, the operation appears to work correctly within Kmail. However, if I run
within the maildir, the total number only increases by 1. The problem is present in the 4.14 betas. This seems quite serious as it can lead to loss of data. For example, if many emails are moved to a maildir, but the akonadi resource is then deleted, all of the emails that were moved into the maildir will be lost. |

I confirm, what Alderrmalhir reported!
This happens also for maildir sub-folders and since kmail become part of Akonadi-PIM. Despite of backups I lost on this way some hundreds of mails ... Alderrmalhir, could you please give here the bug No., where you posted this strange behavior? So I'll confirm that. Bye. |
