threaded message sorting

Tue Aug 12, 2014 7:43 pm
Hi all

I'm using Kmail 1.13.7 and trying to sort the messages, but I can not get the sorting I need.

I need to have the message threads ordered by the date of the most recent message, so that all messages received today are at the bottom of the list. But instead each thread sorts always by the first message date, so an answer from today to a message sent one month ago is way far from today messages.

How to fix that?

Thanks in advance

Here is what I do:
I filter the mail from the mailing list in question to a certain sub-folder. I then right-click on the folder, choose "properties" and set "view-aggregation" to "standard mailing list"

Hi sinclair

Thanks, but that does not work. I have the mailing list in a specific fodler and aggregation set to "standard mailing list" in that folder, and still a thread from thursday with last message from today is sorted with thursday, not with today.

Apologies, I think I misunderstood you. What you say is true but any new message "activates" the thread right?
