Hello.
I am a long time KDE and Kontact user. But I am really frustrated these days, especially with Kontact. Why is it so complicated and fragile? After I moved my home folder to a different partition Kontact makes only problems: First Akonadi wouldn't start anymore, somehow I managed to make it run again. Now, some of the filters that I use, keep on downloading the mails again and again. A cheap fix is to just disable the filters in questions and that improves the situation. So, I was willing to accept that and sort the mails manually. But no, if I move the mails from the inbox into the right folder, the mails will appear again in the inbox upon restart of the program. ![]() Additionally Akregator doesn't download feeds if I use a proxy in the system settings ![]() Now, is there a way to fix this program? I mean like a total reset? greetz, Kai |

you don't mention version or such but have had similar problems related to mail I imported from backup to new setup. I am now on KDE 4.13.3 but when this happened I think I was on 4.13.0
what I had to do: from the "imported mail" subfolder first recreate every folder in Local Folders. NOT copying them but creating the same folders but empty. Then copy every mail from the imported folders to the new folders... and then have fun marking every folder as "read" It took time but once it was done the "forever reoccuring mails" disappeared. As for filters I gave up, removed all of them and am slowly recreating as I go. So I think you may be in the same scenario, you can not "just drop the folders" from one setup or partition to another |
