Is there any way to ask Kmail to send queued messages once it finishes downloading the new ones?

You can, I believe, by setting the option in KMail > Account > Sending > Send email in Outbox

Of course this works if you set your sending policy to queue messages rather than send immediately.

Oh! I found the option. Thank you. I was looking for a global way to do it, but it will work anyway. Solved.
