Missing upcoming events

Mon Oct 06, 2014 11:27 pm
Kontact summary page is not showing all upcoming events, only some. KOrganizer shows all events OK.

Have changed display range several times with no change in events shown.

I've noticed this, but I did not investigate yet on the cause. Probably would be best to file a bug on bugs.kde.org.

The patch referenced above appears to be the solution. Now all I have to do is figure out how to apply it. Have not applied a fix to KDE before. Any suggestions or clues as to where to look for the procedure?

Probably the easiest way would be to ask your distribution to include the patch in their packages.
AFAIR it should apply cleanly on 4.13 as well.

Or upgrade KDE to 4.14.1, this should help you in doing so:

If you are using Kubuntu 14.04.1 all you should have to do is enable the kubuntu backports ppa, then run either sudo apt-get update followed by sudo apt-get distupgrade or if you prefer aptitude run sudo aptitude update followed by sudo aptitude upgrade

That should give you KDE 4.14.1 and solve your issue

Am using Lubuntu 14.04 LTS but added the Kubuntu backport and downloaded full KDE. Switched over to it and like it. Now to unload the other desktop manager, sigh. Thanks for the help from all of you.

am certainly no expert of removing Gnome, LXDE or which ever environment. If you search friendly internet for remove lxde you will find quite a few suggestions though. I would try to remove some LXDE packages and then maybe apt-get autoremove
