Hello! In order to offer possible solutions, a few more details are needed from you:
- Are you using IMAP or POP for the mail? - Is this inbox a local folder? - Does it have any subdirectories normally? - What version of KDE PIM are you using? (check the about dialog in the help menu) - How did this problem occur? Out of the blue, after a software upgrade....

Hi, Thanks for the reply,
Email is POP. Inbox is in Local Folders (default setting) 3 extra folders in Local Folders, each with sub-folders. Kmail Version 4.13.3 Using KDE development platform 4.13.3 The problem occurred while moving mail between folders, ( just possible that a mail was accidentally put in the inbox ). 4 new mails have arrived, (1+1) displayed, 1 mail moved to trash, (0+1) displayed. I hope this is what is required, and helps. Dave P.. |

If you close KMail, open a terminal, write "akonadictl restart", then reopen KMail, is the issue still present?

Just tried "akonadictl reset" and restarted Kmail, the Templates and Trash folders moved position and then restored to normal position.
Inbox still shows (0+1) when empty. also I notice the Trash folder indicates 1, when there is quite a number a mail in there. This may be unrelated and requires a separate posting but when starting Kmail after a system boot, following a short delay the following appears in a pop up window :- The Email programme encountered a fatal error and will terminate now. The error was: Timeout trying to get lock. Click Ok and it terminates, start it again and it starts Ok. Dave P.. |
