I confess, already asked a similar question but now I can make it more simple.
![]() Some days ago I moved my data from one Kubunt-14.04-PC to a newer Kubuntu-14.04-PC. On both of them is KMail 4.13.3 installed. So I used folder > folder archive to export and than file > mail import. Now the folders, subfolders, messages and attachments are transferred successfully. But unfortunately there are no attachment-icons (paper clip) so I can't quick-filter the mails with attachment. Strangely, all messages I got via POP3 after importing have the paper clip icon, if they have attachments! |

I'll try poking one of the developers and see if this can be fixed or workarounded.

Did this mean, the problem is reproducible for your? Anyway. Thanks a lot! I'm looking forward to read a solution here. |

I'm not using POP, so I can't reproduce it here. But as the icons etc, are simply "flags" attached to messages, somehow the import missed those. So I would consider it a bug.

Ok, I asked and it's an issue "by design": these flags (has attachment, etc.) are attached to mails when downloaded (kind of like attributes). Those cannot be added to files when you use folder archives so the information is lost when you re-import them (there's no way to know about them). The developer said he'll look into it, although it's possible that there will be no solution, unfortunately.

THANKS A LOT for the quick respond!

Oh, I thought the flags are added when displayed in mail-list but I only know a little about databases and nearly nothing about mail. ![]()
Thanks again! So what is the import-method normaly provided by the developers? After several years of updating Kubuntu I thought it would be a good idea to start from scratch instead of importing the home partition. |

That's a nice suggestion. Can you file a wishlist report on bugs.kde.org giving details? So that this will not be forgotten.

Is there any update on this issue? I have a similar problem where Quick Filter -> Has Attachment displays no emails when there certainly are, a lot. This is not with an import / export, but with the original IMAP-downloaded email account.
