KMail is either painstakingly slow or fails

Hello,

I use KMail with GMail. If I read an email on web or mobile, it doesn't get synced as read in KMail. KMail takes way too much time to sync back to web servers. Overall as someone who constantly switches back and forth this is a very painstaking experience. I have been trying other email clients to see if it's KMail or something like size of my inbox that is causing the problem. Trojita is unimaginably fast to get mails from server and send back to it. As you might know Trojita is very minimal. Thunderbird is slow but is usable. If KMail fails to properly sycn across services than it remains hardly useful. I am using 4.14.2 version on Fedora 21 with Plasma 5. I have filed a bug too https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=340119.

Do you guys have the same experience with KMail?

Thanks.

I can't reproduce any slowness issue, but again, I'm not using GMail (which speaks its own version of IMAP).

I tested all three email clients with the same Gmail account. KMail is the slowest of all and generally fails once you are using multiple devices on the fly.
