I'd like to determine which information should appear in the column, that contains details about the selected contact.
At the moment it shows name, photo (if available), phone numbers, Emails, Address, reference to address book, note. Well I would hide the note information in this column. Does anybody know, how to do that? Thanks in advance for any suggestion. Nino OS: OpenSuse 13.1 KDE: 4.14.3 PIM: 4.14.3 |

note: this did not work for me
a possibility, not tested copy /usr/share/kde4/apps/kaddressbook/viewertemplates/default/* to ~/.kde[4]/share/apps/kaddressbook/viewertemplates/ edit in Kate ~/.kde[4]/share/apps/kaddressbook/viewertemplates/contact_embedded.html and remove the following
let us know if it works |

ok tested and didn't work as proposed BUT .......
copying and then editing ~/.kde[4]/share/apps/kaddressbook/viewertemplates/contact_embedded.html didn't work but editing /usr/share/kde4/apps/kaddressbook/viewertemplates/default/* did (obvious this is not optimal if overwritten during upgrades) changing the location to ~/.kde[4]/share/apps/kaddressbook/viewertemplates/default also did not help there should be a way to cutomize the templates used (especially as there's the folder) but I don't see it |

Hallo google01103,
thanks a lot for your idea!
I confirm your report. I have done the same. In order to avoid overwriting during updates, I thought, maybe it helps, to the changed file (contact_embedded.html) into the same directory with fantasy name, i.e. contact_XXX_embedded. Do you think, it would be overwritten from update? |

don't know but it wouldn't be used because contact_embedded.html is called by contact_html
you could try setting the files to being read only but not sure package manager wouldn't still overwrite it might want to ask the kdepim mailing list about customizable contact views |
