Hello,
Please tell me where the option is in KMail (under Kontact) to change to/from displayed name to email address instead. I would like to know the email address from which an email was sent as soon it arrives in the inbox. My current settings show the name of the sender, not the email address, requiring me to open the email to learn from which address it was sent. Thank you, ryanl

You may be able to do so by changing your header theme in View > Message list > Theme. Let me know if this doesn't work, and I'll ask a few developers around.

einar,
Thank you for your reply. I just tried your suggestion. It certainly looks as if the email/name setting could adjusted in View > Message List > Theme, but I could not figure it out. The page itself instructs to right click for changes, but nothing there was right clickable. If you would ask the developers, I would really appreciate it. Thanks again, ryanl

Apparently it's not yet possible to only use emails in headers. Can you file a wishlist entry on bugs.kde.org?

Hi einar,
Thanks for looking into this issue. I tried to submit a wish list request but the user name and password I use for logging in here on the forum was not accepted at bugs.kde.org. Is it necessary for me to register separately at bugs.kde.org or have I missed something? Also, since my request isn't technically a bug, is bugs.kde.org technically the proper place to post? Thanks! ryanl

bugs.kde.org is one of the few bits on the KDE infrastructure that can't support a shared login. So yes, you will need a separate account: sorry for that.

einar,
Thanks for clarifying the log in requirement at bugs.kde.org as well as clarifying the email/name limitation. Have a good day. ryanl |
