Hello!
Still trying to solve the problem that akonadi doesn't sync my mail correctly to the defualt location I have the following question: In the early Kmail2 the default location for the "Local Folder" in Kmail has been ".local/share/local-mail" but the mail in the subfolders has been stored in ".local/share/.local-mail.directory" Now I have Kmail2 4.14 and the folder ".local/share/.local-mail.directory" doesn't exist anymore (at least on my system) The mail is now all contained within the "local-mail" folder. Within this folder I find all the subfolders of Kmails "Local Folders" like "inbox", "outbox", "drafts", also the user created ones like "archive" and so forth.... If I create any subfolder of these user created folders like "archive/mail2011" then I get also the folder ".local/share/local-mail/.archive.directory/mail2011" as location for containing the mails within the subfolder... Now my question is: 1. Is it correct that I do not have the ".local-mail.directory" folder anymore? (I remember I read that this had been abandoned...?) 2. Could there be an old configuration file that still tries to use this hidden directory? (I updated kmail2 from 4.4 up till now on Arch every step on the way... and after that I have reinstalled fresh and just copied the configuraion files that have been recommended in the kmail section of the KDE documentation - but this could be outdated as well, I do not know for sure... ) 3. Is there a way to remedy this situation in which kmail at the moment reads mail files I put into the ".local/share/local-mail/.archive.directory/mail2011" folder but does not write into it in most cases? BTW: I have similar problems with notes so I think there must be something broken somewhere - I just have no idea where to find the problematic settings ... or even how to analyze it... Could anyone give me some more hints here? thx, piedro p.s.: here is the configuration of the local folder akonadi resource "akonadi_maildir_resource4rc"

Hi Piedro,
thank you for this post. Unfortunately I cannot answer your question(s) but I would like to add some strange behaviour of KMail/akonadi which seems to be related to your situation: I use two computers (a desktop and a notebook). On either I use KMail/akonadi and access my mail accounts by IMAP. The local folder (with its subfolders) is situated on a Server (Synology DiskStation) because my idea is to share this folder on both computers. Now comes the unbelievable/unexplainable: on computer A I move an email from the inbox folder of an IMAP server to the local folder (say trash) and mark it as read. I then can see this read email in the local trash folder of computer A. On computer B the moved email pops up in the local trash folder as a new message and I get a notification. Now I mark this email on Computer B as read. Now I have this read email in the local trash folder of computer B. But when I now look in the local trash Folder of computer A the email has disappeared/vanished. It has simply gone... Does anybody know why this is the case? Can anybody tell me where the email on computer A has gone? |
