How do I remove all traces of Kontact and Kontact user files/settings so that I can execute a completely fresh install? If this info is published somewhere, plz let me know. I could not find it.

Having spent more time trouble shooting than enjoying Kontact in the months since I switched to it, I'm thinking something went wrong at install or set up. I'm hoping that a fresh install will make an improvement.

I do have an archive of my local folders to import into the new install.

Thank you!

You may want to remove anything related to akonadi in ~/.config, the directory ~/.local/share/akonadi, and the bits related to kmail in ~/.kde[4]/share/config/kmail* , ~/.kde[4]/share/apps/kmail*

Email identities will not be wiped by this. If you really want to nuke them, also delete ~/.kde[4]/share/config/emailidentities*
