Hi,
I have set up three e-mail accounts with Kontact / KMail on openSUSE 13.2, KDE 4.14.4 On two accounts (all IMAP, one is freenet.de, one is a self-hosted Kolab server, one is my works E-Mail) everything is working as expected. On the work-account however, I'm not seeing any mails in the inbox. I'm getting all sub-folders and e-mails in those subfolders (including archives with more than 5K mails in each). Thunderbird is displaying all mails in all accounts. I just found out that the context menu on the working two INBOX-es seem to be very much like a sub.folder (e.g. have an entry for folder properties) while the non-working-INBOX does not. Does this mean the IMAP server config must be changed? If you need more info, I'd be happy to provide it ![]() This is (probably) the imap log of the account in question:
openSUSE 13.2 x64, Platform Version 4.14.X, Kubuntu 14.04 (LTS), Platform Version 4.13.X

Can you check .xsession-errors when you sync to see if there's some issue when retrieving the INBOX?

Thanks for taking some time to look into this
I've done
but my .xsession-errors file (in my home directory) is completely empty. In the output to the console after the restart, I saw this:
The indexed message is a SPAM message from the account in question, but I had moved it to the trash bin with Thunderbird earlier (so its not a message from the INBOX). I didn't see any actual message in the console-output from the EmailIndexer that were "real" messages in the INBOX. I believe that this is the corresponding output about the capabilities of the server after the restart:
openSUSE 13.2 x64, Platform Version 4.14.X, Kubuntu 14.04 (LTS), Platform Version 4.13.X

if you are on Kubuntu the log is not xsession errors but will be found in
~/.cache/upstart/startkde.log |

OK, the server is "courier imapd 4.3.0" - quite old as my admin told me

I knew there were some issues with Courier, but IIRC they were already fixed. Nevertheless, do you also mind filing a bug report adding that log? I'll try to poke knowledgeable developers about it.
