Hello everyone.
I've been experiencing a problem lately with my work e-mail IMAP account in Kmail. I'm running Linux Mint 17.1 KDE and everything IMAP related worked out of the box. Recently Kmail started giving me the error message "Could not read the password: user rejected wallet access" and the account refuses to update. I've checked that Kwallet contains the right password and I've also removed the Kwallet password entries but nothing seems to work. The last time I got it to update was by changing the password for the IMAP account through the webmail interface and then it worked until the next reboot. All my other IMAP accounts from different providers work flawlessly and the e-mail account in question uses the outlook.office365.com servers. I'd really appreciate if someone could shed some light on this as I really like Kmail and would hate having to switch. Cheers! |

Well, that would sound to me that you somehow disallowed KMail/Akonadi from accessing the Wallet. I'd suggest to go into Systemsettings->User Account Details->KDE Wallet->Access Control, and look whether there's an entry for KMail or "xxx of Type IMAP-E-Mail-Server" (or similar) that's set to "Never allow" (or something like that) in the "Policy" column. If there is, delete the entry by right-clicking on it. |

Thanks for the quick reply!
Unfortunately that IMAP account is listed with an "Always allow" policy so that doesn't solve the issue. I've been using linux exclusively on all my system for a about 5 years now but I'm quite new to KDE so any tips that might resolve the issue are appreciated. The IMAP account in question have never given me any trouble before with Thunderbird on Gnome 2.x or Mate. I forgot to add in the original post that I'm experiencing the exact same problem on both my laptop and my workstation. |

I wonder, did you try putting the password back in, then restarting the whole PIM system ("akonadictl restart")?
