Hi, since recently (maybe after my new install of Kubuntu 14.4), my send mail are not put in the send-mails folder, but are put into the trash folder. Why is that? When I start kmail from the console I get this output:
Code: Select all
user@mycomputer:~$ kmail
QDBusConnection: session D-Bus connection created before QCoreApplication. Application may misbehave.
QDBusConnection: session D-Bus connection created before QCoreApplication. Application may misbehave.
Hspell: can't open /usr/share/hspell/hebrew.wgz.sizes.
kmail2(18923) KDirWatch::removeDir: doesn't know "/home/user/.kde/share/apps/messageviewer/themes/"
kmail2(18923) KDirWatch::removeDir: doesn't know "/usr/share/kde4/apps/messageviewer/themes/"
user@mycomputer:~$ Bus::open: Can not get ibus-daemon's address.
IBusInputContext::createInputContext: no connection to ibus-daemon

When I start the dialog to write a new mail and send it. No further output is generated.

What's going on? Please help!

Can you check your identity settings and see if you have specified a sent mail folder?

I don't know why this happened exactly, but I found a solution.

Recently I reinstalled my Kubuntu. After I did this I also copied my settings. The local folders had the same names as the current local folders, so I did not expect any problems. Also the settings looked correctly when I inspected them in the kmail settings. However, something must have been mixed up by kmail anyway.

I followed
The Sent-Mail, Drafts and Templates folder is configurable for each identity. Go to Settings->Configure KMail->Identities, select your identity, click on Modify, go to the Advanced tab and set the folders to point to the right place.

from https://userbase.kde.org/KMail/FAQs_Hints_and_Tips#Local_Folders_is_added_over_and_over

When I went to the menu a pop-up said, that the default folder were chosen, because kmail did not find the set folder. I just chose the appropriate folders again, even though they seemed correct according to the folder names.

Now the send mails get into the right folder.

Those folders are referenced not by their names, but by their numerical id in the Akonadi database.

If you start with a fresh Akonadi database but use the old kmail settings, the ids are most likely different leading to the problem you describe.
