After searching the forum, I see that Akregator is currently orphaned.

I want to submit a modification/patch.

I use akregator as my rss reader. I use ReadItLater/Pocket as a bookmark engine.

I have a post url to add articles to my ReadItLater list.

After reading a lot of searching, the only method of output is %u = article url. I would like to add other tags.

Can anyone point me to a proper development environment to do this in for KDE, and where I should start in the source.

You may want to post on the PIM development mailing list (kde-pim at kde.org). To get started to KDE software development, you should find plenty of resources on techbase.kde.org. But I would recommend to ask on the PIM mailing list first to see what needs to be done.
