Hi, I am trying to switch over to kmail from thunderbird. I have four imap accounts set up in thunderbird and now in kmail, all working.
In thunderbird, I have an "All Inboxes" virtual-folder that when I click on it I can see all the messages in several different inboxes for different accounts. Is there similar functionality for kmail? |

alas, searching the text of messages to find an old message, which inexplicably DOES NOT WORK in modern thunderbird, also (inexplicably?) does not work in kmail - which was really the reason I went through the work of switching. Maybe I'll write my own mail client some day.. (right after I get that kernel finished, Colonel Sanders that is..) If anyone can point me to a fix for the searching issue that doesn't involve trying 50 things other people tried, let me know...
unrelated ramble (skip).. ((not that the first paragraph wasn't also unrelated to my original question)) I should add, for positivity's sake, that I'll be staying with KDE. I was able to customize everything (keyboard shortcuts, starter icons, scripts, window behavior) just like my old xfce4 configuration, with the added bonus that the shortcuts don't just disappear sometimes. Plus the compositing and look and feel are nicer in KDE. Also enjoying dolphin so far. Having some issue with add-ons not working do to all the QT upheaval, I guess. As advertised, KDE was easily and fully customizable which is my main criteria for a linux window manager. In the process of setting up I solved some issues I didn't know I had, like an incorrect keyboard layout. |

There isn't a global inbox in KMail as far as I can tell.
