When logging into a plasma-desktop 5.4.1 (even on a fresh installation of Arch or Manjaro) after the first login, the loading of the desktop is delayed by around 25 seconds (on my KVM-VM as well as on "real" hardware of a friend of mine) by some akonadi processes just sitting around... At least they say something
(the relevant part with the potentially interesting "Identifier argument missing" messages quoted here, the whole log at the end of the post):
By not loading anything using Akonadi (cleaning up krunner, removing korgac from autostart and taking the clock widget out of the panel), plasmashell loads considerably faster (5-10 seconds in total, I guess). Any idea what's the reason? As this also happens with a new user without playing around in the configs at all and even on a fresh installation, too, I guess/hope it's not a configuration issue on my side.

Akonadi is started on demand, so it may be possible that some program on default configuration requests it when starting up. (I have it autostarting on my desktop, but I don't see that on my notebook, which instead starts it when I run KMail). You may want to review what's being autostarted in the system XDG paths.
The "identifier missing" warnings are mostly harmless, instead.

It's true that Akonadi is started automatically - that's why I removed all the components mentioned above that access akonadi to start without it and see if it is responsible for the delay (it is
). So your suggestion of simply not using it (implicitly) is the right one to get a faster bootup for now, but unfortunately just a work-around.Obviously something else must be wrong since an unconfigured akonadi shouldn't take 25 seconds to start on an up-to-date machine and I am wondering if I and my friend are the only ones seeing that? Well, I guess I'll file a bug report - starting with the distribution
