On my latest debian jessie installation the above mentioned function does not work anymore.
I have Owncloud based card DAV ressource defined which works very well in Kaddress. But I don't have access from Kmail. E.g.: If I compose a mail and enter the name of the recipient Kmail doesn't autocomplete or making suggestions. The DAV ressource is both visible in Akonadi and also in Kmail -> Settings -> Composer -> Autocomplete. But it doesn't do it. I am pretty sure its a small setting I forgot about but I am not able to find ist. Search here and on google doesn't show any hints. Any ideas? Thanks Edit: I forgot to mention hat the button right of the addressfield also show correctly the DAV addressbook, only autocompletion/suggestion does not work. |

Is mail indexing enabled and allowed to be used for autocompletion? (Check under Configure KMail > Composer)

Sorry, I canot find such an option. I am using KMail Version 4.14.1 Using KDE Development Platform 4.14.2
I have an option "use recent adresses..." that is checked. And that works. But I get no suggestions from my Adressbook(s) . (e.g. entering K A B should be completed to or suggest "Kabus@irgendwas.de" which is an entry in my adressbook. |

Do you have email search enabled? (check in System Settings > Search)

I found the problem.
I had zeitgeist installed from an earlier Gnome installation. Obviously that prevented baloo from being installed. After deleting the first and installing the latter, everything works fine now. The breakthrough was you asking for email search, which I didn't found. So, thanks a lot, Einar. Ralf |
