For Kmail KWallet is not available

It is strongly recommended to use KWallet for managing your passwords. However, the password can be stored in the configuration file instead. The password is stored in an obfuscated format, but should not be considered secure from decryption efforts if access to the configuration file is obtained. Do you want to store the password for server 'My Mail Server (My Address)' in the configuration file? What does it mean and can I still use the configuration file? My Wallet is activated and open (with blank password).

Distros ship both the 4.x version and the 5.x version. If you have KMail 4.14 (check in about KMail in the help menu) it needs the old kwallet, and if you use the KF5 KMail (shipped in 15.08.2, which I think you're using) it needs the KF5 version ("kwalletd5").
