After upgrading to Kubuntu 15.10 KMail2 is not expunging IMAP folders.
Deleting an email with KMail2 just marks it as deleted, but the folder is never cleared and the email will stay as marked for deletion. Changing the settings doesn't change anything. The message disappears after moving to an other folder or deleting it, but after switching the folders, the message re-appears in the inbox. Do you have any ideas? Is it a known issue?

What server are you using? It works fine for me here (Cyrus IMAP).

It is a managed system by Hetzner Online GmbH. I asked them which software they use and going to post the answer as soon as I have a reply.
It seems like after KMail crashed on hitting the "Compose" button [https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=355093] and restarting the application, the emails marked as deleted are cleared from the inbox. The features detected by KMail are the following:

The mail software of the provider is Courier IMAP.
Deleting emails works fine with an other account on a server with Zimbra as mailsoftware. It seems like a known bug of previous KDE releases and is now reintroduced: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... bug/874468 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=316153 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=354056
