Hi,
I had a perfectly well working kmail until akonadi came up some years ago... For some reason (I don't remeber why) I had to set up a second mail folder. As this should not be necessary and is quite annoying (if I select it the folder changes it place from top to the bottom in the folder view) I'd like to remove the second folder again. So I moved or copied some of the subfolders from A to B, resulting in empty ghost mails (no text, no attachements). How do I get rid of these? Is it safe to delete them? Which directories do I have to back up? In ~/.local I have a subdirectory ".local-mail.directory" und another subdir "local-mail". Thanks for solutions Reinhard ![]() |

You may want to run a consistency check first (should not harm your data). From a terminal:
- akonadictl fsck - akonadictl vacuum These should run consistency checks and optimize the database. As for back up, you want ~/.local/share/akonadi and ~/.config/akonadi* (along with the kmail bits in ~/.kde[4]/config/kmail* and emalidentities).
