To import a message in .mbox format in kmail2 (KDE 4.13.3) , I first select the destination folder, then select one message. The import succeeds, but gives the following error:

Error:  Could not create folder. Reason: Unable to append mime type for collection

I see no need to create a folder, as I picked an existing folder. Why do I get the error and what ca I do to avoid it?
