Hi,
I've just upgraded from OpenSuse 13.2 to the latest OpenSuse Tumbleweed which includes QT5.5.1, KDE 5.5.4 and Kontact/Kmail 5.1.1. It appeared to pick up all my old settings but attempts to send mail failed. I finally tracked it down to the fact that my sending account uses sendmail but this is now listed in the Outgoing Accounts dialog as being of Type SMTP! Looking at the account properties shows an SMTP account with the Outgoing Mail Server set to /usr/sbin/sendmail and there appears to be no way of modifying it to be a Sendmail account. I've tried to add a new outgoing account but, whereas before the first dialog gave the option of Sendmail or SMTP, now it goes straight to the SMTP dialog. How do I restore the correct sendmail operation? Thanks Laura |

Please file a bug on bugs.kde.org detailing what you'd expect KMail to do with a Sendmail account.

According to the response to bug 358823: "Indeed we removed sendmail support in kf5"
That seems to me an extraordinary thing to do. Does anyone know why? |
