Hello,
I try to use the archive feature of kmail2 5.1.2, but it seems to always archive into the current year folder. So I archive messages that are from 2015 and they are archived into the folder 2016 and moved to Archive/2016. The settings are to archive into a folder named after the year. Thanks. |

I believe this is intentional: archiving is done not by the year of the message, but by the current year you are in.

Seriously? For me that completey anti-intuitive.
How do you archive bills? By the actual date of the bill or by the date you finally managed to work that big pile of paper on your desktop? In what archive folder would you look for the christmas wishes of 2015? In the 2015 folder or in 2016, because after all christmas trouble you got to archive them in the first week of january? Or is there any rationale behind it that I don't see? Best... EDIT: Created a bug report https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360194 |

I don't use the archive feature, so I can't comment on the actual rationale: I'm merely reporting what I gathered from a (very brief) exchange with the developer.
