Hello,
I have two mail accounts configured in Kmail. One of these is an IMAP Gmail account and I configured it using SSL over port 993, which is supposed to be an encrypted connection. The other mail acount is another IMAP account of my university which uses STARTTLS.

Well, the problem is that when I check mail from Gmail, if I click on the [^] bottom-bar button, I can see an icon (a shield with a red badge), and if I put the pointer on top of it, "Connection is unencrypted" appears. When I check my university mail, the badge is green and "Connection is encrypted". What is the problem? I've been searching on the internet for hours and found nothing.

Thank you.

Edit: same problem with an outgoing SMTP account of hotmail (smtp-mail.outlook.com) with the following settings:
Server requires authentication
Encryption: TLS
Port: 587
Authentication: Login

I think it's just a display problem? If you're using STARTTLS, the connection should indeed be encrypted.

The problem is with other accounts, not the one using STARTTLS. =)

Anyway, if I'm using SSL or TLS, it should be encripted. The problem is that I don't know if it's a bug or something went wrong in config. :_(
