How can I make KMail display an address book in new message window (edit mode) like in Thunderbird or Evolution (these apps display address books on the left part of such window)?

you can post a bug /wishlist on bugs.kde.org, since Plasma 5 it does function differently earlier the list was opened and filtered in the address field when typing began
