I am using the "vertical layout" in kmail. I am using the brand new Neon distribution (stable).
When I startup kmail it has always forgotten the width of the middle column. Every time I have to correct this width by hand. Is there something I can do about that? Thanks Pieter |

Best would be to file a bug on bugs.kde.org: I have this issue on some machines, but not on others (although versions and distros are identical).

I have the same issue. Did you file a bug and if yes, could you link to it? Thanks! |

Oh, it's such a long time ago I don't even remember if I filed a bug. But that could very well be the case. After these troubles I gave up with Kmail and used Thunderbird again. But a few months ago I gave Kmail a try again and guess what? Kmail has become a fantastic email client!
The problem you have now is about the only not-so-elegant thing left in the program. And I understand what is now! I will explain below the image ![]() If you right click where the image tells you there will appear a context-menu. In this context-menu you find two items about "columns". There you must click on "show standard colomns". I don't know exactly how it is called in English. In my language the two items are called: "kolomgrootte aanpassen" (adjust colomn width) and "standaard kolommen tonen" (show standard columns). If you choose the "show standard columns" you problems are over! For as long as it lasts. Then you have to do this again. (btw. I use Neon user edition too. I think it's great!) Hope it helps! |
