Hi,

I know it has been a couple months since this thread was alive, but I have the same problem; my KMail Find Messages does not find anything. It does instantly display Search complete, but never rise any results.

In Akonadi Console, I have one agent by email account. When I right-click and select Show task list, it displays this:
Code: Select all
ResourceScheduler: Online
current task: 841 Invalid (no task)
 queue 0 is empty
 queue 1 is empty
 queue 2 is empty
 queue 3 is empty
 queue 4 is empty

IMAP tasks:

I guess the problem is in these "841 invalid", because when I restart the agent, it starts with "7 invalid", then slowly goes to "49", and it eventually ends up at "841" (which I believe is the number of email in that account, right?).

All "libkf5akonadi*" packages are installed, except "libkf5akonadisocialutils5" and "libkf5akonadixml5"; both doesn't looks like they should be required to index IMAP emails. Well, I installed "libkf5akonadixml5", just in case, restarted akonadi ("akonadictl restart") and also restarted the agent, but still those "invalid" tasks.

Regarding the "~/.local/share/baloo/email" file, it doesn't exists on my system:
Code: Select all
ls -sh ~/.local/share/baloo/
total 812M
812M index   16K index-lock

There is no "~/.config/ballorc" either.

Versions:
  • kmail 4:16.04.3-1
  • baloo-kf5 5.27.0-1
  • akonadi-server 4:16.04.3-2

Do you have any other suggestions?

Lots of changes have hit 16.08.2 (although some issues may persist, I'm being told), you may want to upgrade if possible or use a VM if need be to see whether your issue is still present in the latest stable version.

Thanks for your reply. I'm gonna wait for it to reach Debian... and will come back here if not fixed. ;-)
