Lost mail using "send later" or is it hiding somewhere...

Last night I finished an important mail which I did not want to send at midnight...

So I used the send later agent to send it in the morning. Last night the mail has been saved in the drafts folder of the according email account - now this morning the draft folder is empty again (as it should) and the mail does not show up in the "sent" folder as works with every manually sent mail.

- I have no indication whether the mail has been send (which is very unsettling for critical mails) - is there a send log in kmail?

- how can I force the send later agent to use the same folders as kmail does?

- where is my sent mail stored now? Have I lost it and no way of knowing exactly which wording I used?

- how can I confirm it has been sent at all?

please help, piedro

The sent mail is kept in the folder configured for your identity (it's set per identity and not per account). That said, "send later" might not save the sent mail (I haven't used it ever, though), and that would be a bug. You may want to try by sending a mail to yourself using the send later agent (set it 1 min after) and see if it's sent and saved in the right sent folder.
As far as I know, there is no log for sent mail - that is the MTA (mail transport agent, which runs on whenever server you send mail to)'s responsibility. To workaround the issue you may need MDNs (Message Dispositions Notifications), aka the "received / read" mail notifications.
