Hi All,

Just installed Kubuntu 16.04 LTS (clean install), set up Kmail with my IMAP email account (proprietary email off my own domain/server). Everything worked fine after setup. Was receiving and sending email just fine.

I closed down Kmail and now I can no longer open it. When I click to open, the icon bounces and then nothing. I still get notifications when I receive email, but I can not open the program. I also tried opening Kmail from within Kontact, but I get the same issue...Kmail never opens.

Any ideas?

How to debug the imap connection to my server?

$ export KIMAP_LOGFILE=$HOME/kimap.log
$ akonadictl restart

The IMAP resource will now create bunch of kimap.log.* files in your home
directory with full record of the IMAP communication.

also look at ~/.xsession-errors might be something there
