I have deleted the akonadi database and config in a fit of rage when an akonadictl fsck would not fix the database. I had hoped akonadi would have noticed the database was no longer there and there was no config and would do the logical thing and regenerate a new one. This is not the case. How do you regenerate the akonadi database? Also there is no documentation anywhere I have looked for it and should most likely added to the akonadi wiki entry.

There's no documentation because deleting the database is not a supported mode of operation, although possible technically. That said, you need to remove what's in ~/.local/share/akonadi *and* any configuration files in ~/.config that are related to akonadi itself as well.

***** iirc this worked for me in KDE 4, 5 will be somewhat different *************

1st stop Akonadi using akonadictl app then remove the following:

    ~/.config/akonadi*

    ~/.local/share/akonadi

~/.kde4/share/config/akonadi* (note: ackonadi_* will not get it all)

    ~/.kde4/share/apps/akonadi*

    ~/.kde4/share/config/*migratorrc
