I use the automatic archiving of all my accounts/mailboxes on a daily basis since month. It works fine. Since 3 days I get a error-message like this: The folder#1 can't be archived. The download of a message in folder INBOX failed. The archive is created but only 2,7 KiB are stored and all folders, INBOX/cur as well, is empty. I had this problem in the past but it was easy to solve by deleting a "odd message" with attachment. But this time I can't see a worrisome message because meanwhile I delete this message right after receiving them.
How can I discover which mail causes the problem? |

Can you run kmail on a terminal like konsole and see if there's any output printed when archiving fails?

You mean by typing kontact in the terminal and copying the output here?
Unfortunately that only works one time per day and today I messed up. ![]() |

Yeah, I mean that. I'm not sure how to start the archiving manually, unfortunately.

OK, yesterday I deactivated the automatic archiving in KMail and the auto start of Kontact. Today I started Kontact and after that I activated the automatic archiving again. This time all folders are archived, also the one that doesn't work the last 8 days.
![]() I would assume that this was part of my network-problem I solved yesterday (switch got broken) but this make no sense because all mail-folders are local and the backup-folder also. So, I think I must be happy cause it works again and hope that this will never happen again. The terminal-output is no help to me because it says nothing about the archiving:
Btw: that Test ownCloud doesn't work is nothing new to me and doesn't matter. Is there no other way to get a log of the automatic archiving? |

I'm going to ask the author of the archive feature next time I see him on IRC.

That is very kind. Thanks.
It might be a good idea not to discard the whole archiving because one corrupted mail. Is it not possible to discard only the corrupted mail (and display its subject and date) while the other mails are still archived? |
